The One With All The Feels

I have more to share about this listing than the standard features or bonuses list.

About 3 years ago I was called to go out to this property for a market analysis and I parked in the driveway not knowing what to expect. It was fall and the trees were orange and yellow; the sky a bright blue.

I walked down into the property but I didn’t rush to go inside right away. In front of me, there were sheer cliffs, a still pond with a glassy surfaced reflected the colors of the foliage back into the world. For a moment, I felt as if I were far away; in the Alps or something. I stood at the water’s edge and looked at the length of the pond and appreciated the silence.

Behind me, there was a three-story home with a soaring fireplace visible through a screen room. A hot tub was positioned to allow it’s soakers to appreciate the views from the home.  The amenities were all there but the land…  I could tell before going inside that this was a special one.

 I presented my analysis and  the owners told me they weren’t ready to sell yet. I remember thinking: “I wouldn’t want to sell it either.” We stayed in touch and over the past few years have come to know each other and I now appreciate the owners as much as I do the house.

The fun they’ve had in this house is unrivaled- from canoeing in the summer, to ice skating the pond when it freezes in the winter, a warm-up in the hot tub or the sauna after a day of hiking or skiing and s’mores shared around the sunroom fireplace. It’s the way life should be.
