Setting the Stage
Meet the MacDonald family: Jacquelyn, her husband Liam, their 2-year-old son, Charlie, and their energetic Vizla, Jake.
They are from the Boston area. Jacquelyn works in education and her husband, Liam, is a firefighter.
They had been looking at properties all over Maine for years. The house that they ultimately bought was the perfect combination of a cozy home to comfortably host friends and family, all on a private pond, but close enough to town and the ski mountains to be appealing as a vacation rental.
